Making lateral moves since my first co-op job in 1994, I continue to enjoy helping others become self sufficient and leaders within their community. Prior to working in state government, I was a legal secretary for six years and have given numerous hours as a temporary contractor to MESSA, Michigan Department of Community Health, and the Lansing Police Department. Working for nonprofit, government and for profit organizations has given me a well-rounded perception of workforce needs and expectations of potential employers. Recently, I tackled some goals of my own including a part time adjunct instructor and earning a professional certificate from the Society of Human Resource Management in 2020. My future goals include becoming certified in MS Office and venturing into developing my own temporary agency.
